We made this change so that users and approvers can compare the previous results with the current results and understand the pay-relevant consequences of changes made to an approved time sheet.

To see the previous value of a time valuation results, the Time Type Group must have Time Pay Type = Yes.

3. Attestation Text for Time Sheet Submission
You can now define an attestation text that employees implicitly need to confirm while submitting their time sheets. This text is used to ensure that an employee agrees with the data entered in their time sheet period.
This attestation text allows you to define a statement that confirms the accuracy, completion, or approval of a specific task, project, or time reported by an employee. The attestation text is displayed in the time sheet submission dialog.
- Submitted By lets you track the user who submitted the time sheet.
- Approved By lets you track the user who approved the time sheet.
- Approval Date lets you track when the time sheet approved.
- Submission Date lets you track when the time sheet submitted.
We’ve added this feature to help customers comply with legal obligations. Attestation text safeguards employers against potential claims from employees that their recorded time does not align with their actual working hours.
Configuration Requirements
You define the attestation text by maintaining the Attestation Text on Time Sheet Submission field in the employee’s time recording profile. This new field is available automatically for all Time Sheet customers, but only Time Tracking customers can edit this field.
Note
The Attestation Text on Time Sheet Submission field has a predefined length of 4000 characters, which cannot be changed.
Note
The Attestation Text on Time Sheet Submission field is not supported by the mobile Time Sheet application.
What’s Changed
How It Looks Now

4. Business Rules in Time Valuation (General Availability)
We’ve introduced the valuation types Decision by Business Rule and Calculation by Business Rule and are releasing them for all Time Tracking customers. These valuation types let you create time valuations with business rules.
The valuation types allow you to access Job Information data through business rules and can also process more complex calculations with the help of rule functions. The input time type group configured in the time valuation is transferred to the business rules and can be used within the business rule in conditions and calculations. This combination of time valuations and business rules lets you implement scenarios such as the following:
- Decide which time valuations are processed based on an employee’s FTE, pay grade, location, or department.
- Use FTE as a factor in calculations.
- Calculate prorated threshold values in the hire year of an employee.
We’ve introduced time valuations with business rules to support additional scenarios.
Configuration Requirements
In the previous release, this feature had restricted availability. Now, all customers with a Time Tracking license can implement this feature.
You implement this feature by creating a time valuation with the valuation type Decision by Business Rule or Calculation by Business Rule. Creating such time valuations usually includes defining the business rule that is used by the valuation and creating the time type groups that are used as time type group above and below.
What’s Changed
How It Looks Now
Decision by Business Rule
With the valuation type Decision by Business Rule, you can now, for example, configure that other time valuations should be processed when FTE < 1. In this case, the input time type group is routed to the time type group above and all time valuations using this time type group are processed.
Calculation by Business Rule
With the valuation type Calculation by Business Rule, you can now, for example, multiply the input time type group that contains the planned working time by the FTE.

5. Monthly Calendar View in Time Sheet UI (Universal Feature)
We’ve added a monthly calendar view in Time Sheet that allows employees as well as managers and administrators in on-behalf mode to get an overview of the employees’ attendance and absence recordings in a calendar month. Now all Time Tracking customers can use this feature without having to contact Product Support.
This view shows all relevant time entries (absences, working types, on-calls, and even allowances) in a calendar month, including the employee’s full pay period. In addition to making the monthly calendar view a universal feature, we’ve added the following functionality to the calendar view:
- You can filter for working times, on-call times, allowances, or absences. In the calendar view, the number of items in a calendar day is limited to either 2 or 3 items. As a result, many items are hidden. The filter helps you to fill in your time sheet completely. Holidays and non-working days are not affected by this filter.
- All days of the currently selected time sheet have a white background.
- You can now use the copy feature to copy entire weeks in your time sheet.
We’ve added this view to align pay periods with the time sheet display period, and to allow employees to see and update a more substantial period.
Configuration Requirements
In the previous release, you had to contact Product Support to activate this feature. The calendar view is now automatically available to all Time Tracking customers. This feature is automatically on in the system and is visible on the employee UI.

6. Time Sheet Approval Center is Generally Available
We previously released the Time Sheet Approval Center feature as early adoption. This feature is now generally available.
Time Sheet Approval Center provides a holistic view of all the time sheets along with key details in a single place allowing the manager or approver to confidently approve the time sheets in an easy and efficient manner. The Time Sheet Approval Center page shows details of the time sheets that includes planned working time, recorded time, difference between planned working time and recorded time, key facts, missing time punches, absences, related approvals, alerts, and amendments.
In addition to the features that were introduced as part of the early adoption, we now have the following enhancements:
- There’s a Quick Action tile on the home page UI for Time Sheet Approval Center.
- Using the Time Management Configuration Search, you can identify time recording profiles associated with Time Sheet Key Fact Configuration.
- You can now view the monthly time sheets for employees on the Time Sheet Approval Center page. The status of the time sheets can be either To Be Approved or To Be Submitted. We provide support to the Payroll relevant time containers.
- As a manager of an employee working in France who is a day recorder, you can now view the time recording in days on the Time Sheet Approval Center page.
- If you amend a time sheet that was already approved, you can now see the values which were recorded before the amendment was made along with the current value. You can see the previous values for Record Working Time and also for Key Facts that include Time Type Group and Allowance.
Configuration Requirements
- Ensure that you have a valid SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking license and it’s enabled.
