H1 – 2024 Release Schedule
- Preview Release – April 19, 2024
- Production Release – May 17, 2024.
1.Calendar-Based Automatic Approval of Pending Time Sheet Workflow Requests
We’ve added a processing user to the time recording calendar. The processing user lets you automatically approve time sheets with pending workflows.
In some organizations, time sheets need to be approved by a certain date to ensure that employees are paid on time. You can now ensure that pending time sheets are automatically approved by a certain date by assigning a processing user in the time recording calendar. The processing user is a user with permissions to manage workflows. This user performs all workflow actions and saves objects related to the time sheet. If no processing user is provided, auto-approval of time sheets is only possible if the submission date is equal to the approval date. Auto-approval is possible for positive, negative, and overtime recorders.
We’ve added this functionality to help customers pay their employees on time.
How It Looks Now
You can now assign a processing user in the time recording calendar. Therefore, you can now automatically approve time sheets with workflows. Previously, you couldn’t assign a processing user. Therefore, auto-approval of time sheets was only possible if the submission date was equal to the approval date.

2.Monthly Time Sheets
You can now approve time sheets on a monthly rather than on a weekly basis. We’ve also added a monthly calendar view in Time Sheet that allows employees as well as managers and administrators in on-behalf mode to get an overview of the employees’ attendance and absence recordings in a calendar month.
The length of a time sheet period can vary. In some organizations, time sheets are submitted and approved on a monthly rather than a weekly basis. When you set up such monthly time sheets, the new calendar view of the time sheet is the default view. This view shows all relevant time entries (absences, working times, on-calls, and allowances) in a calendar month.
Configuration Requirements
To activate monthly time sheets, please contact Product Support using the contact details mentioned in the linked blog post. Do not open a support ticket. After Product Support activates monthly time sheets, the calendar view is available automatically.
Restriction
- Single record approval is not supported.
- The admissibility configuration Past Weeks for Weekly Time Sheets is ignored for time sheets with monthly approval periods. Use retroactive change restrictions to ensure the time sheet is admissible.
- Time sheets with monthly approval periods are not available on the mobile Time Sheet app.
You have the User Time Management Object Permissions Allowance Recording permission.
You have the User Time Management Object Permissions Time Recording permission.
How It Looks Now
The approval period of a time sheet can now be a calendar month. The default view for such monthly time sheets is the new calendar view. However, you can switch between the calendar and the list view.
How It Looked Before
Previously, the approval period could only be a week and only the list view was available.

3.New Views for Story Reports About Weekly and Monthly Time Sheets
You can now generate comprehensive story reports for data from both weekly and monthly time sheets. To remove duplicate entries in a time sheet amendment scenario, you can use the Latest Time Sheet field.
With this enhancement, you can create separate reports for weekly and monthly time sheets in the story report. These reports track the recorded times and make them available for affected employees, external parties, or government organizations. The following types of data from both weekly and monthly time sheets are supported:
- Daily absences and attendance records
- Allowances
- Working times and on-call times
We’ve made this enhancement to help customers differentiate data from weekly and monthly time sheets.
Note
We added the new views for story reports about weekly and monthly time sheets valuations for 1H 2024 but did not include the release note in the original publication. This feature is not enabled by default and will only affect your system if you decide to implement it.
Configuration Requirements
You’ve set up weekly and monthly time sheets in your system, for which Employee Central and Time Tracking licenses are required. In addition, you need to set up Story reports.

4.Weekly Period Calculations
You can now set up flexible periods that are 1, 2, or 4 weeks long.
Let’s says you want to calculate overtime for a biweekly period with a threshold for this period. For example, you need to pay a 25% premium for up to 6 hours of overtime and a 50% premium for overtime worked in excess of 6 hours. Therefore, you create a time container that stores overtime recorded during a biweekly period. Time type groups for such time containers contain a new field called Time Container Period Result Type. This field is automatically filled with the value One Value at the End of the Period.
We’ve introduced weekly period calculation to support scenarios that require weekly, biweekly, or time data covering 4 weeks to be processed.
Configuration Requirements
To use weekly period calculations productively, you need to set up flexible periods.
How It Looks Now
When you create time type groups for flexible periods, you can now select the base unit Week. When you select the base unit week, you can set the number of base units to 1, 2, or 4.
How It Looked Before
Previously, you could only select the base unit Month.
