1. Display Contingent Workers in Team Absence Calendar
The absences of contingent workers managed in Employee Central Time Off can now be displayed in the Team Absence Calendar UI.
Contingent workers can be part of the total workforce management in Employee Central and are treated the same way as regular employees.
We’ve enhanced the Team Absence Calendar due to requests from customers who manage a contingent workforce in Employee Central. This enhancement makes it easier for managers or employees to plan vacations using the Team Absence Calendar.
Configuration Requirements
The contingent worker setting must be enabled in Provisioning or from the Admin Center under Manage Employee Central Settings.

2. Information Button on Time Off UI
We’ve added an Information button to the Time Off Employee Self-Service UI, which appears when you define an instructional text in the time profile.
When users select the button, they see the instructional text. The Information button does not appear if no instructional text is defined for the relevant time profile.
Here’s an example of what the instructional text could look like:
We’ve added instructional text to provide the flexibility for defining country/region-specific policies and regulations for requesting absences. It is possible to format the text and provide an external URL, which can be used to navigate to the company portal, where there is more information on leave policies.

3. Effective-Dated Time Profile – General Availability
This feature allows users to make effective-dated changes to the Time Profile object, such as adding or removing time types on a certain date, without having to create a new time profile and add an effective-dated entry in the employee’s Job Information record.
Instead, you can make the change in the Time Profile object for all users assigned to that time profile. Effective dating ensures that there is no time gap between records and enables you to track historical data accurately.
Note
Effectived-dated time profile is not supported in Leave of Absence only instances.
Configuration Requirements
To enable this feature, you have to execute the relevant upgrade center task, called Upgrade Time Profile Object to Effective-Dated.

4. Information Button on Time Sheet UI
We’ve added an Information button to the Time Sheet UI, which appears when you define an instructional text in the Time Recording Profile.
Once the text is defined, users can refer to it by selecting the Information button at the top of the UI. The text shown is the one entered in the time recording profile currently assigned to the user. This means that if a user looks at a time sheet from last year, when a different time recording profile was assigned to them, they will see the text from the time recording profile assigned to them now, not from the time recording profile assigned to them last year.
The information button does not appear in the Time Sheet UI if no instructional text is defined for the relevant time recording profile.

We’ve added instructional texts to provide users with the information they need to maintain their time sheets. This is necessary because the requirements are very different, for example, for those who record only overtime, those who use negative time recording, and those who use positive time recording.

6. New Take Rule Parameter for Recurring Absence in Absence Validation Rule
We have enhanced the take rule parameters in the Absence Validation Rule to include the “Is Recurring Absence” parameter.
You can use this parameter to raise a validation error if you do not want to allow creation of recurring absence for certain time types. It can only be used in the IF condition.
You can also use this parameter when editing or canceling recurring absences. For example, you can raise a validation error if an employee cancels leave because you want only admins to cancel recurring absences.
