2. Time Off Enhancements in the New People Profile
The new Profile Preview and Spotlight include out-of-office information for employees when they’re away from work. In addition, the Spotlight shows an Upcoming Absence card to indicate when the employee will be away from work next.
Configuration Requirements
To enable the out-of-office information on the People Profile and Spotlight, you need to enable Show current absence status under Company System and Logo Settings.
Role-Based Permission Prerequisites
For the out-of-office information on the People Profile and Spotlight, in addition to enabling Show current absence status, you need to grant the View permission for the Employee Time object.
To enable the Upcoming Absence card on the Spotlight, you need to grant the View permission for the Employee Time object. This is also required for the out-of-office information.
What’s Changed
How It Looks Now
In the current version, the out of office information considers absences, holidays, and non-working days according to the work schedule. These are used to derive the “Back on” information shown in the People Profile.
The current version also includes an upcoming absence card with information on when the employee will next be absent from work.
Note
We included an improved screenshot that contains more complete information to better illustrate the new upcoming absence card in the People Profile.
How It Looked Before
In the previous version, the out of office information only considered absences.
Note
The legacy People Profile still works as before. The change only affects the new Profile Preview and the Spotlight view.

3. Time Type Filter Rule Restriction Removed
We’ve removed the limit on the number of time type filter rules you can add to the time profile.
The change means you can assign as many time type filter rules as you require to the time profile.
Caution
Keep performance in mind. The more rules you assign to a time profile and the more complex those rules are, the longer it will take to load the time type dropdown on the UI.
Note
Don’t use the time type filter rule for time types that have a time account type assigned because time accounts would still be created. In such cases, it is better to use separate time profiles.
Configuration Requirements
A time type filter rule must be assigned to the available time type under the time profile.
To assign a time type filter rule to an available time type with classification as an attendance, break, extra, or on-call time type, SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking needs to be enabled. SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking is not required for absence time types.
What’s Changed
In the current version, there is no restriction on the number of assigned time type filter rules for each time profile.
How It Looked Before
In the previous version, there was a limit of 10 time type filter rules for each time profile. An error message appeared if users tried to enter more than 10 filter rules.

4. Validation to Check Duplicate Entitlement Postings in Time Off
We’ve added a new validation to block creation of two or more entitlements on the same day using Manage Data, imports, or using the Calendar run for entitlements.
Here’s what the validation error message looks like:
We added this check because we observed lot of issues with inconsistent data in customer systems, which also results in failed calendar runs and failed recalculation jobs.

5. Validation Check on Custom Field Data Types of Employee Time Object
A validation check is now performed on the Data Source and Auto Complete custom fields in the Employee Time object.
The Data Source and Auto Complete fields aren’t supported in absence requesting. We added this check to ensure they aren’t used.
What’s Changed
In the current version, a validation error is raised when you try to use custom fields of the Data Source or Auto Complete data types in the Employee Time object definition.
In the previous version, custom fields of the type Translatable and Enum data types were not supported and a validation error was raised.
No validation error was raised for custom fields of the Data Source and Auto Complete data types.
