1.Replacement of Benefits Auto Enrollment Job with New Tracker-Based Jobs
Benefits Auto Enrollment Job will reach End of Development on May 20, 2022 and will be Deleted on November 17, 2023.
Key Dates
Future dates are subject to change.
Milestone | Date | Definition |
---|---|---|
End of Development | May 20, 2022 | The deprecation milestone after which SAP stops enhancing a product or part of a product. You can continue to use the software, but you should begin planning for a time when it will no longer be available for use. We still fix high-priority bugs. |
End of Maintenance | November 17, 2023 | The deprecation milestone after which SAP does not fix bugs or deliver patches for the software. SAP continues to answer your how-to questions. We strongly encourage you to adopt an alternative method for your business scenario. |
Deleted | November 17, 2023 | The deprecation milestone when a feature is no longer available for productive use. You should now be using an alternative method for your business scenario. |
Deprecation Details
The Benefits Auto Enrollment Job is replaced by Create or Update Benefit Enrollments for Benefit Master Data Changes and Create or Update Benefit Enrollments for Employee Master Data Changes job.
Note
The existing, scheduled Benefits Auto Enrollment jobs will run until 15th November, 2024.
The Benefits Auto Enrollment Job analyzes all employee records with each run, even those records where there are no changes based on the eligibility rule. This approach slows down jobs, affecting the performance with respect to time. Occasionally, the job can also fail due to memory consumption issues if the volume of data to be processed is very high. To improve performance, two new jobs have been introduced to replace the Benefits Auto Enrollment Job.
Note
We recommend that you use the new tracker-based jobs instead of the Benefits Auto Enrollment Job from 1H 2022. After November 17, 2023, Benefits Auto Enrollment Job will be deleted and you will not be able to use the job for any automatic enrollment changes. So, by November 17, 2023, you must set up the Create or Update Benefit Enrollments for Benefit Master Data Changes and Create or Update Benefit Enrollments for Employee Master Data Changes jobs. For more information on configuring the new jobs, please refer to the Additional Resources listed below.

4.Changes to Savings Plan Beneficiary Fields
The field labels and values for beneficiaries under Health Savings Account (HSA) have been changed.
These enhancements were performed based on customer feedback and to make the field names and information clearer.
Note
This information was missing from the original publication of the What’s New Viewer. We’ve added it for the October 20, 2023 publication.
What’s Changed
The Primary Beneficiaries section in Health Savings Account (HSA) previously had the field Is the Beneficiary a Dependant, with Yes and No as the dropdown list options. Now this has changed to Beneficiary Type and it displays the following values in the dropdown list:
- Family Member
- Other
Similarly, the Contingent Beneficiaries section in Health Savings Account (HSA) previously had the field Is the Beneficiary a Dependant with Yes and No as the dropdown list options. Now, Contingent Beneficiaries has changed to Secondary Beneficiaries and the Beneficiary Type field displays the following values in the dropdown list:
- Family Member
- Other
In the Savings Plan Benefit Creation screen, the Beneficiary Relevant dropdown list in the Health Savings Account (HSA) object previously displayed Yes or No. It now displays the following:
- Primary and Secondary
- Not Applicable
If you’re using a custom UI for the Savings Plan enrollment, use the benefitSavingsPlanPrimaryBeneficiaries.beneficiaryType Value Type Resolver instead of the existing benefitSavingsPlanPrimaryBeneficiaries.isDependent.
The nonDependentDateOfBirth field in the BenefitSavingsPlanPrimaryBeneficiary and BenefitSavingsPlanSecondaryBeneficiary objects shouldn’t be used going forward. For non-dependents, the Date of Birth field will point to dateOfBirth. If you’ve used nonDependentDateOfBirth field in your custom integrations, reports, or rules, you need to change the reference to the dateOfBirth field.
Note
You can also mark nonDependentDateOfBirth as not visible in BenefitSavingsPlanPrimaryBeneficiary and BenefitSavingsPlanSecondaryBeneficiary.
All the existing beneficiary data in benefit enrollments will be migrated automatically with 2H 2023 release upgrade.
If you’re using a custom UI for the Savings Plan enrollment, use the benefitSavingsPlanPrimaryBeneficiaries.dateOfBirth Value Type Resolver instead of the existing benefitSavingsPlanPrimaryBeneficiaries.dependentDateOfBirth Value Type Resolver.
