Q2 2018 Release Highlights: SuccessFactors Employee Central

SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite as part of their Q2 2018 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Employee Central.

1.Absence Manage­ment, Time Locali­zation :

As of the Q2 2018 release, you can ena­ble automatic period-end-processing of flexible date time accounts as a first step towards implementing Prima Vacacional, an additional entitlement for employees in Mexico, which cannot be taken as time o but is for payment only.

2. Absence Manage­ ment :

In earlier releases, users entering an ab­sence with flexible requesting based on a time type with unit hours could only en­ter a deduction quantity of up to 23 hours and 59 minutes. As of the Q2 2018 release, they can enter a deduction quan­tity that can be as much as the number of calendar days from the start date to the end date and cover 24 hours per day.

3.Position Manage­ ment :

When changing employee’s Supervisor in Jobinfo, there is a Feature (enabled by permissions) to move the employees Po­sition along with the Person to the new Supervisor. So, the employees’ Position get’s reassigned to the new supervisor’s position. This was not supported in PP3.

4.Time Sheet :

As of the Q2 2018 release, you can mark a time collector as a UI Component. When you do this, a Time Collector link appears on the Time Sheet Web UI. Click this to access detailed time collector in­ formation.

5.Metadata Framework :

The enhancement that is done in the Q2 2018 Release ensures consistency in the model and make the MDF more robust.

There is a behavior change with respect to validating rules for new and existing object definition.

There is a behavior change in the pending records on the custom MDF portlets with workflows.

There is a consistent behavior for Maximum Length and Decimal Precision for the fields of type Decimal in MDF UI and Import.
