4.Replacement of Continuous Performance Management Legacy Version with the Continuous Performance Management Latest Version
The legacy version of Continuous Performance Management (CPM) will reach End of Maintenance on May 20, 2022 and will be retired as of May 24, 2024. The replacement is the latest version of CPM, initially released in 2H 2020, that is currently available in the Upgrade Center. If no action is taken, your company will be automatically upgraded to the latest version after the retirement date.
Key Dates
Future dates are subject to change.
Milestone | Date | Definition |
---|---|---|
End of Development | May 20, 2022 | The deprecation milestone after which SAP stops enhancing a product or part of a product. You can continue to use the software, but you should begin planning for a time when it will no longer be available for use. We still fix high-priority bugs. |
End of Maintenance | May 20, 2022 | The deprecation milestone after which SAP does not fix bugs or deliver patches for the software. SAP continues to answer your how-to questions. We strongly encourage you to adopt an alternative method for your business scenario. |
Deleted | May 24, 2024 | The deprecation milestone when a feature is no longer available for productive use. You should now be using an alternative method for your business scenario. |
Deprecation Details
The legacy version of Continuous Performance Management (CPM) is being retired and replaced with the latest version of CPM. If you’re still on the legacy version, make plans to upgrade to the latest version. If no action is taken, your company will be automatically upgraded to the latest version after the retirement date.
Caution
Only the latest version of Continuous Performance Management (CPM) is available for new implementations. The latest version of CPM is the only version available for upgrades.
Once upgrading to the latest CPM version, it cannot be undone. You cannot revert back to an older version of CPM. Please make sure that you’ve reviewed the feature differences before you upgrade.
If you disable the legacy version of CPM using the Performance Management Feature Settings or Provisioning and then re-enable CPM, the enabled version is the latest version, not the legacy version.
With its release in 2H 2020, we introduced the Latest (Reimagined) CPM Experience. This new experience provides users with a redesigned UI and an improved experience related to activities, achievements, and meetings. In addition, we’ve introduced new functionality including support for users with multiple roles and feedback from multiple stakeholders.
Caution
There are a number of v2 OData APIs that the legacy version supports that are NOT supported by the latest version. The latest version is only supporting v4 OData APIs. The following v2 OData APIs will cause existing integration to break when upgrading to the latest version.

5.Manage Jobs in Scheduled Job Manager
You can now manage scheduled jobs on the Job Scheduler tab in the Scheduled Job Manager tool, for supported job types.
You can use the Job Scheduler tab (previously called Scheduled Job Requests) to complete the following actions:
- Create a scheduled job request (to define which job type you want to run, on what schedule, and who receives email notifications about it).
- Submit a scheduled job request (so that the job runs at the next scheduled time).
- Run a job immediately (without waiting for the next scheduled time).
- Edit an existing scheduled job request (such as changing the recurrence or owner).
- Cancel a scheduled job request (so that the job is still set up but doesn’t run anymore).
- Delete a scheduled job request (to remove it completely from the system).
For each supported job type, the available actions vary. For example, for some job types you can only schedule a job request, but you can’t run the job immediately. For others, you can run it immediately, but only after it’s first been set up in Provisioning. Check the Actions menu for a specific job request to see which actions are available.
These actions are supported only for the following job types. For other job types, you can view job requests on the Job Scheduler tab after they’ve been set up in Provisioning, but no other actions are available.
Job Type | Module |
---|---|
Create or Update Benefit Enrollments for Employee Master Data Changes | Employee Central |
