The SuccessFactors SmartRecruiters 1H 2026 release introduces a range of exciting innovations designed to help organizations transform their HR operations, enhance candidate and employee engagement, and drive better business outcomes.

1. Active Applicants Filter in Applicant Workbench

The SAP SuccessFactors SmartRecruiters 1H 2026 release introduces an enhancement to the Applicant Workbench that enables recruiters to easily focus on candidates who are actively progressing through the hiring process.

A new toggle, “Show Active Applicants Statuses Only,” is now available within the Applicant Workbench. When this toggle is turned ON, only applicants with active statuses are displayed. When turned OFF, both active and inactive applicants are shown.

Additionally, when accessing the Applicant Workbench from the Job Requisition List:

  • Selecting the Active Candidates column automatically enables the toggle, displaying only active applicants.
  • Selecting the Candidates column keeps the toggle disabled by default, showing all applicants.

The Status filter menu also dynamically adjusts when the toggle is enabled, displaying only statuses associated with active candidates.

Business Impact

This enhancement allows recruiters to quickly identify and focus on candidates who are still in the hiring pipeline, reducing manual filtering efforts and improving overall efficiency.

2. Hide Recruiting Link in the Main Navigation Menu

SAP SuccessFactors now allows you to control visibility of the Recruiting module in the main navigation menu using Role-Based Permissions (RBP).

🔍 What This Means

You can hide Recruiting from the main menu for specific users—especially useful if:

  • You are using SmartRecruiters alongside SAP Recruiting
  • You are phasing out Recruiting
  • You need region-based recruiting tools

👉 Example:

  • APAC → SAP Recruiting
  • Europe → SmartRecruiters
  • Users in Europe won’t see “Recruiting” in the menu

⚙ How to Configure

Permission Path:

Admin Center → Manage Permission Roles → User Permissions → Recruiting Permissions → ☑ Hide Recruiting in Main Navigation Menu

Assign this permission to roles who should NOT see Recruiting in the menu.

⚠ Important Limitations

This permission:

✅ Hides Recruiting from:

  • Main navigation menu only

❌ Does NOT:

  • Remove access via:
    • Action Search
    • Deep links (URLs)
  • Remove underlying Recruiting permissions
  • Disable operator assignments

🔐 To Fully Remove Recruiting Access

If your goal is complete removal, you must ALSO:

  • Remove:
    • Recruiting role permissions
    • Operator assignments
    • Any related access rights
