1.Enhanced Gender Field Replication from Employee Central to Employee Central Payroll

The SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll 1H 2026 release introduces an enhancement to Employee Master Data Replication by improving how gender information is replicated from SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to Employee Central Payroll.

With this enhancement, the Male and Female values maintained in the country/region-specific Gender field within the Global Information section are now replicated successfully for all countries and regions. This simplifies employee data maintenance, especially for global organizations where employees frequently transfer between countries.

Business Challenge

In previous releases, gender replication depended on SAP’s standard mapping table (T77PAD_GENDER). If a country or region was not included in the mapping, organizations had to maintain gender information in both:

  • Country/Region-Specific Gender field
  • Standard Gender field

This resulted in duplicate maintenance, increased administrative effort, and a higher risk of inconsistent employee data.

What’s New in 1H 2026

The replication logic has been enhanced to support the Male and Female values from the country/region-specific Gender field for all countries, regardless of whether the country exists in SAP’s standard mapping table.

Key improvements include:

  • Male and Female values replicate successfully for every country or region.
  • Employees transferring between countries no longer require gender information to be maintained in multiple fields.
  • Reduced duplicate data maintenance.
  • Improved consistency of employee master data.
  • Simplified global HR administration.

Configuration Requirements

To use this enhancement, administrators must:

  1. Enable the Country/Region-Specific Gender field in Manage Business Configuration.
  2. Assign a picklist that contains at least:
    • Male
    • Female
  3. Ensure gender information is maintained in the Global Information section.

This release extends support to Brazil (Portuguese) and Canada (English and French), making payroll information more transparent and easier for employees to understand in their local languages.

The Explain My Pay Statement feature enables employees to interact with Joule, SAP’s AI copilot, to better understand payroll information.

Employees can ask questions such as:

  • Explain my latest pay statement.
  • Why has my net pay changed?
  • Compare this month’s pay statement with last month’s.
  • What does this wage type mean?
  • How much overtime did I work?
  • What overtime rate was applied?
  • Why are my deductions different this month?

Joule provides AI-generated explanations based on payroll data and document grounding, helping employees understand earnings, deductions, taxes, overtime, and net pay without requiring assistance from HR or Payroll teams.

The 1H 2026 release introduces several enhancements:

  • Brazil is now supported in Portuguese.
  • Canada now supports both English and French.
  • Employees can ask Joule to explain payroll terms and wage types.

  • Install the Synchronization HR Support Package delivered in May 2026.
