1.Work Schedule Finder Enhancement
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central introduces an enhancement to the Work Schedule Finder in the SuccessFactors Time Management H2 2026 release.
Previously, users needed the Time Recording Variant field to be visible and populated in Job Information to access the Work Schedule Finder. With this enhancement, users can access the finder even when the field is hidden, disabled, or not populated.
This improvement makes it easier for administrators to select and adapt existing work schedules.
What Has Changed?
In the previous version, the Work Schedule Finder could return an error when the Time Recording Variant field was unavailable.
With the H2 2026 release, the system allows users to access the finder without requiring this field to be available.
The behavior depends on the option selected.
1. Choose Existing Work Schedule
Users can select an existing work schedule even when the Time Recording Variant field is unavailable.
In this situation, the system displays work schedules associated with both time recording variants.
2. Copy and Adapt Existing Work Schedule
Users can choose an existing work schedule and use it as a starting point for an adapted schedule.
3. Create Individual Work Schedule
The system disables this option when the Time Recording Variant information is missing and displays a message explaining why users cannot select it.
Business Benefits
This enhancement provides several benefits:
- Improved accessibility: Users can open the Work Schedule Finder without requiring the Time Recording Variant field to be visible.
- Greater flexibility: Administrators can select or adapt existing work schedules even when the field is unavailable.
- Simplified configuration: Customers who populate the Time Recording Variant through a business rule when saving Job Information can benefit from this change.
- Better user experience: The previous restriction no longer blocks access to two of the three Work Schedule Finder options.
Configuration Requirements
Administrators should verify the following configuration requirements:
- Ensure that you secure the Work Schedule object in Configure Object Definitions.
- The administrator has the Manage Time → Maintain Individual Work Schedule permission.
- The relevant user role has the Edit permission for the Work Schedule object under Time Management Object Permissions.
Important Consideration for Consultants
Although the Work Schedule Finder now works without a Time Recording Variant value, users must provide the required information before they can select Create Individual Work Schedule. Consultants should test the enhancement with different field configurations and confirm that the system selects the correct work schedule for each employee.

2.Time Management Module in Main Menu
SAP SuccessFactors introduces a dedicated Time Management module in the main menu as part of the SuccessFactors Time Management H2 2026 release.
Previously, employees and managers often had to navigate through People Profile or quick actions to access time-related applications. With this enhancement, users can access their time-related tasks from a dedicated menu, making navigation simpler and more convenient.
The new Time Management module provides centralized access to applications such as Time Off, Time Sheet, and other time-related features, depending on the user’s permissions.
What’s New in This Release?
The Time Management module now appears as a primary navigation option in the SAP SuccessFactors main menu.
When users select this module, they can access available time-related applications through a dedicated navigation menu.
Key improvements include:
- Centralized access: Employees and managers can find time-related applications in one place.
- Simplified navigation: Users no longer need to rely exclusively on People Profile or quick actions to access time features.
- Improved side navigation: The dedicated navigation menu helps users move between available Time Management applications.
- Clearer breadcrumbs: Employee Self-Service time pages no longer show misleading navigation paths that refer to People Profile.
- Backward compatibility: Legacy navigation paths remain available during the transition period.
Applications Available in the Time Management Menu
Depending on the user’s role-based permissions, the menu can provide access to the following applications and functions:
- Time Off
- Time Sheet
- My Calendar
- Planned Working Time
- Attendance Quota
- Payouts
- Time Forms
The applications displayed depend on the permissions assigned to the user. For example, users who have access only to Time Off and Time Sheet will see only the corresponding options.
How to Enable the Time Management Module
Administrators must enable the required options in SAP SuccessFactors.
Follow these steps:
- Log in to SAP SuccessFactors with administrator access.
- Navigate to Company System and Logo Settings.
- Select Enable SAP user experience updates.
- Select Enable Side Navigation for Time Management.
- Save the settings and verify the navigation behavior.
Administrators can enable or disable this feature without additional provisioning steps, according to the release information.
Role-Based Permission Requirements
Users must have at least one of the relevant Time Management permissions for the module to display the corresponding application.
The permissions include:
- Create Payouts in Self Service
- Access My Calendar UI in Self Service
- View Planned Working Time
- Access Time Off
- Access Time Sheet
- Access Attendance Quota
- Generate Time Forms
These permissions are available under:
User Permissions → Time Management User Permissions
Administrators should assign permissions according to each user’s responsibilities and business requirements.
What Was the Previous Behavior?
Previously, SAP SuccessFactors did not provide a dedicated Time Management module in the main menu.
Employees and managers had to use quick actions or navigate through People Profile to reach applications such as Time Off and Time Sheet.
The navigation paths could be confusing because breadcrumbs referenced People Profile, even when users were working with time-related functionality.
The new dedicated module provides a clearer and more consistent navigation experience.
Business Benefits
This enhancement offers several benefits to organizations:
- Better user experience: Employees can find time-related tasks more easily.
- Improved productivity: A centralized menu reduces the effort required to navigate between applications.
- Simplified access: Users can access available time applications from a dedicated section.
- Clearer navigation: Updated breadcrumbs make it easier to understand where users are working.
- Consistent experience: Side navigation provides a more organized way to move between time-related pages.
Important Considerations for Consultants
SAP SuccessFactors consultants should verify the following before enabling this feature:
- Enable the SAP User Experience Updates option in the system settings.
- Enable Side Navigation for Time Management in the system settings.
- Assign the appropriate Time Management permissions to the relevant users.
- The expected applications appear for different user roles.
- Employee Self-Service pages display the correct navigation and breadcrumbs.
- Existing navigation paths continue to work as expected during the transition period.
Consultants should also review the updated deep links for Payout and Purchase when these features are relevant to the implementation.

3.Effective-Dated Time Valuation
SAP SuccessFactors introduces Effective-Dated Time Valuation in the SuccessFactors Time Management H2 2026 release. This enhancement allows administrators to change time valuation settings from a specific effective date without creating duplicate time recording profiles or updating employee Job Information records.
Previously, when an organization’s time management policies changed, administrators often had to clone time recording profiles, update time valuation configurations, and assign the new profiles to affected employees.
With effective-dated time valuation, administrators can maintain multiple configuration periods within a single time valuation. The system automatically applies the appropriate configuration based on the relevant date.
Note: This feature is available by request only. Customers must obtain approval and enable it through Upgrade Center before using it.
What Is Effective-Dated Time Valuation?
Effective-dated time valuation allows administrators to define different configuration settings for different periods within the same time valuation.
Each effective-dated time slice can contain its own:
- Threshold values
- Time type groups
- Filter settings
The system selects the applicable configuration according to the effective date and the time valuation method.
This makes it easier to manage changes to overtime rules, working time policies, and other time valuation requirements.
Practical Example: Changing the Overtime Threshold
Consider an organization that currently pays overtime when an employee works more than eight hours per day. From July 1, 2026, the organization changes its policy so that overtime applies only after ten hours.
Previously, the administrator might have needed to create a new time recording profile and update the employee records assigned to the old profile.
With effective-dated time valuation, the administrator can configure two time slices within the same time valuation.
| Effective Period | Overtime Threshold | Expected Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Up to June 30, 2026 | 8 hours | The existing eight-hour threshold applies |
| From July 1, 2026 | 10 hours | The new ten-hour threshold applies |
For example:
- June 13, 2026: The eight-hour threshold applies.
- July 20, 2026: The ten-hour threshold applies.
The system automatically selects the appropriate time slice. The time recording profile remains unchanged, and no employee Job Information updates are required solely to implement this policy change.
How Does It Work?
Administrators can create multiple effective-dated time slices when creating or editing a time valuation.
The general process is:
- Open the relevant time valuation configuration.
- Add a new effective-dated time slice.
- Specify the start date for the new configuration.
- Maintain the required threshold, time type groups, and filter settings.
- Save the configuration and validate the results for the relevant periods.
Each time slice represents a configuration that applies from its effective date until the next applicable time slice begins.
Important Configuration Rules
- The Valuation Type and Valuation Method fields cannot be changed when editing an existing time valuation.
- A time valuation slice cannot be changed to Inactive.
- Effective-dated time slices are not supported for the Create Time Record valuation type.
- The applicable configuration depends on the valuation method used.
How Does the Valuation Method Affect the Results?
The system determines which time slice to use based on the valuation method.
1. Valuate Per Day
The system considers the applicable time slice for each processing day.
2. Valuate Up To Today
The system considers the applicable time slice when evaluating the daily time valuation results.
3. Valuate Whole Sheet or Period
For this method, the system uses the time slice effective on the last day of the time sheet or valuation period for the entire calculation.
Example: Consider a weekly time sheet covering September 21–27. If a new time valuation slice starts on September 23 and another starts on September 25, the calculation for the entire weekly period uses the configuration effective on September 27. In this example, the September 25 time slice applies.
Consultants should pay particular attention to this behavior when implementing policy changes that occur in the middle of a time sheet period.
Business Benefits
Effective-dated time valuation provides several benefits:
- Reduced configuration effort: Administrators no longer need to clone time recording profiles for every policy change.
- Simplified maintenance: Multiple configuration periods can be managed within one time valuation.
- Fewer employee record updates: Policy changes can be implemented without mass-updating employee Job Information solely to assign new profiles.
- Better auditability: Effective dates help administrators track when configuration changes apply.
- Greater flexibility: Organizations can manage frequent policy changes more efficiently.
- Profile consolidation opportunities: Customers with many time recording profiles can evaluate whether their configurations can be simplified.
Configuration Requirements
This feature is currently available by request only.
Before using it, administrators must:
- Contact SAP Product Support to request the feature.
- Obtain approval for enablement.
- Enable Effective-Dated Time Valuation through Upgrade Center → Recommended Upgrades, once approved and available.
- Review the security configuration of the Time Valuation object.
- Ensure the relevant role has the required Time Management Object Permissions → Time Valuation permission.
- Test the effective-dated configurations using representative employee time records.
Important Considerations for SAP SuccessFactors Consultants
Before implementing effective-dated time valuation, consultants should review the following:
- Confirm that the feature has been approved and enabled in the tenant.
- Identify the time valuations that require multiple effective periods.
- Validate the start dates and configuration values for each time slice.
- Confirm that the selected valuation method produces the expected results.
- Test time sheets that span a policy change date.
- Review existing time recording profiles to identify possible consolidation opportunities.
- Validate the results before deploying changes to production.

4.Individual Work Schedule Changes Trigger Recalculation and Payroll Replication
SAP SuccessFactors introduces an enhancement in the SuccessFactors Time Management H2 2026 release that automatically recalculates Time Management data and triggers replication to Employee Central Payroll when certain changes are made to an individual work schedule associated with a Temporary Time Information record.
Previously, these actions were not triggered consistently when individual work schedules were updated through Manage Data, imports, or integration flows.
With this enhancement, administrators no longer need to manually update the Temporary Time Information record or use Admin Workbench as a workaround to trigger recalculation and payroll replication.
What Has Changed?
When an individual work schedule associated with a Temporary Time Information record is changed, the system now automatically:
- Recalculates the relevant Time Management data.
- Triggers replication of the updated work schedule to Employee Central Payroll.
- Raises a planned-working-time replication event to synchronize the updated schedule.
These actions help ensure that changes to an employee’s working schedule are reflected in the relevant time management calculations and payroll system.
What Time Management Data Is Recalculated?
Depending on the applicable configuration, the recalculation can affect:
- Absences: Time-off calculations associated with the employee’s schedule.
- Time account balances: Relevant balances that depend on working-time information.
- Accruals: Time account accrual calculations.
- Time Sheet records: Time sheet data, where this functionality is enabled.
The purpose is to keep related Time Management data consistent with the updated individual work schedule.
Practical Example
Consider an employee whose temporary working arrangement includes an individual work schedule.
An administrator changes the employee’s working pattern or working hours through Manage Data.
Previously, this change might not have triggered the required recalculation and payroll replication through that route.
With the H2 2026 enhancement:
- The administrator changes the individual work schedule.
- The system identifies the structural change.
- The relevant Time Management data is recalculated.
- A planned-working-time replication event is raised.
- The updated schedule is replicated to Employee Central Payroll.
This reduces manual intervention and helps keep Time Management and payroll data synchronized.
Which Changes Trigger Recalculation?
Not every change to an individual work schedule triggers recalculation.
The enhancement applies to structural changes that affect working times, patterns, or dates.
Changes that affect only custom fields do not trigger recalculation or payroll replication through this enhancement.
Only active, approved Temporary Time Information records are considered for the immediate trigger. Pending or inactive records are excluded. When a pending record is approved, recalculation and replication are triggered as in previous releases.
Where Does This Enhancement Apply?
The updated behavior applies to individual work schedule changes made through:
- Admin Workbench
- Manage Data
- Import
- Integration flows
This provides more consistent processing across different methods of maintaining individual work schedules.
What Happens If Recalculation or Replication Fails?
If the system cannot trigger the required recalculation or Employee Central Payroll replication, it blocks the work schedule change and displays an error message. Administrators must resolve the issue before attempting the change again.
Business Benefits
This enhancement offers several benefits for SAP SuccessFactors customers:
- Less manual work: Administrators no longer need to re-save Temporary Time Information records as a workaround.
- Improved consistency: Relevant Time Management data is recalculated after qualifying schedule changes.
- Better payroll synchronization: Updated working schedules can be replicated to Employee Central Payroll.
- Consistent processing: The enhancement covers multiple methods of updating individual work schedules.
- Reduced operational risk: Automatic processing helps minimize the possibility of missing required recalculation or replication steps.
Important Considerations for Consultants
SAP SuccessFactors consultants should verify the following when testing this enhancement:
- The individual work schedule is associated with a Temporary Time Information record.
- The Temporary Time Information record is active and approved.
- The test change affects working times, patterns, or dates.
- Recalculation of relevant Time Management data is triggered.
- The planned-working-time replication event is raised.
- Employee Central Payroll receives the updated information, where applicable.
- Changes to custom fields alone do not trigger recalculation.
Consultants should also test pending and inactive Temporary Time Information records to confirm that their behavior matches the documented rules.
