With this enhancement, you can speed up the approval process and reduce unnecessary back and forth.SuccessFactors Employee Central 2H 2025

3.Updates to the Home Page Experience

We’ve updated the home page experience so that it’s easier to use and more personalized to the individual. We also updated the administration experience so that you can provide custom content that’s more consistent and more engaging.

SuccessFactors Employee Central 2H 2025 Updates include:

  • More efficient use of space, with less scrolling.
  • Clearer separation of actions and links.
  • One consolidated list of tasks and updates that need your attention.
  • Helpful tips and reminders are featured near the top of the page.
  • Improved design and layout of custom content.
  • Personalization options.
  • Access to all the latest home page cards and features.
  • Updated administration tools to support the latest user experience.

These updates are based on customer feedback about the current home page.

To enable or disable the latest experience, go to Admin Center >>  Company System and Logo Settings  >> Enable the latest Home Page experience.

Role-Based Permission Prerequisites

There are no new permissions required to access the updated experience. When enabled, it’s available to everyone.

How It Looks Now

In the current version:

  • “Quick actions” that you can complete quickly on the home page are displayed in a toolbar at the top of the screen.
  • “Quick links” to other pages are displayed separately, as buttons under the greeting message.
  • There’s no large banner image at the top of the screen.
  • Some cards are featured near the top of the screen. In this example, Congratulations! You received an award.
  • All other system-generated cards are displayed in the Needs Attention section. You can filter them based on card type, like Approvals or For You Today.
  • Custom cards in the Organizational Updates section are all displayed in a small format. They can be filtered based on configurable subsection titles, if you use them. In this example, Our Company, Popular Links, and Social Activities.
  • New functionality is available, such as banner cards, analytic cards, and personalization settings.
The latest home page experience, showing the quick action toolbar, a personalized greeting, quick links, a featured card near the top of the page, other cards in the Needs Attention section, the Organizational Updates section with consistent card size, the Explore More section with large banner cards, and a link to personalization settings

How It Looked Before

In the previous version:

  • Both actions and links were displayed as tiles in the Quick Actions section.
  • There was a large banner image at the top of the screen.
  • The greeting message didn’t include your name.
  • System-generated cards were displayed in separate sections, like Approvals and For You Today.
  • Custom cards in the Organizational Updates section could be large or small size and could be organized into different subsections— in this example, Our Company and Popular Links.
  • The Explore More section and personalization settings weren’t available.
The legacy home page experience, showing a large banner image at the top, the Quick Action section with both actions and links displayed as tiles, no personalized greeting, cards in separate sections called Approvals and For You Today, and the Organizational Updates section with both large and small size cards.

4.Removal of “Pending Requests” Permission

All users can now access the Pending Workflows page without requiring a specific permission.

The User Permissions  >> Employee Views  >> Pending Requests permission has been deleted.

As a result, all logged-in users can open the Pending Workflows page without any specific permission. Previously, that permission was required to access it through the global header search, the quick action on the home page, or a URL.

Because the Pending Workflows page only shows the current user’s pending requests, or requests the user has already processed, a permission check is not necessary. This enhancement simplifies system administration and optimizes business configuration.

5.A Dependent Can Only Be Linked to One Employee

We’ve introduced a new validation to ensure that a dependent can be linked to only one employee. This can help avoid data inconsistency issues.

If a dependent has already been linked to an employee in your company, and you try to link this dependent to another employee through Admin Center  Import Employee Data. Previously, linking a dependent to multiple employees was allowed, but would cause inconsistent data.

Note: If you still wish to link the same dependent to multiple employees, you can create multiple persons for this dependent in the system.

This validation only applies to newly added dependents. Previously created dependent records won’t be affected.

We’ve made this change to ensure data consistency in your system.

The system automatically adopts this new validation, and there is no configuration requirement for you.

What’s Changed

How It Looks Now

If you try to link one dependent to multiple employees, you’ll receive a validation error.

6.Redesigned Dependents Editing UI and History UI

In the latest People Profile, we’ve redesigned the Dependents Editing UI and History UI to provide a more intuitive and less error-prone experience. These enhancements align with previous redesign of data viewing experience for dependents.

Previously, in the legacy People Profile, you can access the Editing and History UIs by selecting the Edit and History buttons on the Dependents block. The editing UI displays all dependents on one single page. You need to select the Edit Details buttons to edit full details for each dependent. Meanwhile, the History UI doesn’t show full details of dependents. All of these could lead to inconvenience or errors when you update individual dependents’ information.

Now we’ve resolved these issues by moving the Edit and History buttons to individual dependents’ records. On the Dependents details page, each dependent appears as a separate entry in the left pane, with their name, relationship, and date of birth. You can select a dependent to display their full information in the right pane. You can then choose Edit to update this dependent’s details, or History to manage their history records.

Additionally, if an employee has deleted dependents as of a past date, the dependents details view page now displays a dropdown to switch between Active and Deleted dependents.

These enhancements are designed to help you manage dependents more effectively and conveniently.
