A **deep link is a hyperlink that links directly to a specific page in the SAP SuccessFactors
system, rather than the start page**. **SAP SuccessFactors Deep Links** make it
easier for users to navigate directly to specific features, pages, or employee-related
information without going through multiple navigation [steps](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6Jlb11xrw6mXt0qshfL0SQ).

Organizations can also integrate **SAP SuccessFactors Deep Links** with external
third-party applications. Within SAP SuccessFactors, administrators can add deep
links to the **Home Page, Employee Profile, and Main Navigation Menu**. These links
help users reach frequently accessed pages and HR processes with fewer [clicks](https://youtu.be/zzBAXSpIaiU?si=bQMIqA3L2LRY5Rdz).

## **Creating an SAP SuccessFactors Deep Link**

You can create an **SAP SuccessFactors Deep Link** to take users directly to a specific
page or feature.

### 1. Determine the SAP SuccessFactors base URL

First, identify the base URL of the SAP SuccessFactors system you [want](https://www.lorenzo-datasolutions.com/self-paced-videos-of-sap-successfactors/)
to link to.

The base URL includes the **hostname and domain name**. It can vary by customer
or region.

### 2. Add the deep link path

Add the deep link path to the base URL. Separate the base URL and path with a forward
slash (`/`).

**Example:**

The deep link `/sf/devplan` takes users to their Development Plan.

    ```wp-block-code
    https://<app-server-domain>/sf/devplan
    ```

### 3. Add URL parameters when required

You can add parameters to an **SAP SuccessFactors Deep Link** when [needed](https://www.lorenzo-datasolutions.com/online-training-for-sap-successfactors/).
Add a question mark (`?`) after the URL path.

For example:

    ```wp-block-code
    https://<app-server-domain>/sf/devplan?
    ```

For links that users access **outside SAP SuccessFactors**, such as email messages
or help documents, add the **company parameter**. This parameter identifies the
SAP SuccessFactors system.

For links inside the system, such as Home Page cards or navigation links, you may
not need additional parameters.

### 4. Add the Company ID for external links

Add the `company` parameter when you create a deep link for external use. Enter
the appropriate **Company ID** for your SAP SuccessFactors system.

When users open the link, SAP SuccessFactors directs them to the configured authentication
method. This can include **SSO or password authentication**. After authentication,
SAP SuccessFactors takes users to the target [page](https://www.lorenzo-datasolutions.com/lorenzo-data-solutions-reviews/).

**Example:**

    ```wp-block-code
    https://<app-server-domain>/sf/devplan?company=MYCOMPANY
    ```

This link takes an authenticated user to their own Development Plan in the **MYCOMPANY**
system.

**Tip:**
You can find the Company ID from the user account menu. Select your profile
photo in the page header. Then select **About** or **Version Information**.

### 5. Add additional parameters

You can add additional parameters to an **SAP SuccessFactors Deep Link**. Separate
each parameter with an ampersand (`&`).

**Example:**

    ```wp-block-code
    https://<app-server-domain>/sf/pmreview?company=MYCOMPANY&username=jsmith123
    ```

This example opens the performance review form for user `jsmith123`. The user must
have the required permissions to access the information.

### 6. Add hash parameters when supported

Some deep links support additional information after the URL parameters. Use a hash
mark (`#`) to separate this information.

**Example:**

    ```wp-block-code
    https://<app-server-domain>/sf/timeForms?company=MYCOMPANY#/essScreen
    ```

This example opens the **Employee Self-Service Time Forms** page in the `MYCOMPANY`
system.

### 7. Add the deep link to your content

Copy the completed **Deep Link URL**. Then add it as a hyperlink wherever users
need access to the specific page.

You can use deep links in **internal documentation, training materials, company
portals, Home Page cards, navigation menus, emails, and supported third-party applications**.
To ensure seamless access, always verify the target permissions before sharing the
link widely.
